Projects of Heart takes the safety and well-being of its volunteers or guests very seriously. All volunteers or guests are therefore advised to follow the following guidelines in the event of an emergency.

MEDICAL EMERGENCIES
In the event of a medical emergency, please call Mr. Tom Davis and if possible, get to the nearest hospital. The recommended hospitals by region are:
- ACCRA: Greater Accra Regional Hospital (Ridge hospital)
- KUMASI: Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital
- CAPE COAST: Cape Coast Regional Hospital
- Upon receipt of the medical emergency call, Mr. Davis will immediately notify the POH medical team who will then take the necessary steps to ensure that our guests receive the best medical care possible.
- COVID-19: If you test positive for COVID-19, please follow the COVID-19 protocol. If you have no symptoms or have mild symptoms, please quarantine for 5 days if possible. Practice social distancing, always use face mask, especially when you are in public places. Treat mild symptoms such as fever, cough, nasal congestion, headache with known approved over the counter medications. If your symptoms are moderate to severe, seek medical care in the nearest or our recommended hospitals. POH also encourages our guests to bring along with them commonly used over the counter medications they may need to take for COVID-19, the Flu, allergies, etc.
NONMEDICAL/ SAFETY EMERGENCIES
- In addition to contacting Mr. Tom Davis, please call the nearest Police Station or dial # 191 or 999
- If you are a US citizen, call the US Embassy in Ghana at: +233 30 274 1000 for further assistance. Other nationals should call their respective embassies in Ghana for further assistance.

As part of the orientation program (induction) in Ghana, POH will arrange for a visit to Ridge hospital to meet with our medical team lead, Dr. Kaba, who will be providing a more detailed medical emergency plan to the group.
