Projects of Heart (POH) is a nonprofit organization founded in the United States by a medical doctor and entrepreneur, with the goal to provide humanitarian services in developing countries around the world. Our founder believes that community service is one way of reaching out to people who need help.

At Projects of Heart, we recruit volunteers from the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom and other developed countries. We provide our volunteers with;

1. Assistance through the application process, visa and travel arrangements

2. Airport pick-up and drop-off service

3. Accommodation

4. Food

5. A 24/7 support from our local and US/Canada staff

6. A free Projects of Heart T-Shirt

7. A Projects of Heart Certificate of Recognition to be issued upon completion of your project

8. Transportation to exciting tourist attraction sites in our destination countries.

*Additional costs must be paid individually.

9. A farewell BBQ or dinner get-together for volunteers leaving.

10. Pre-departure support from our Volunteer Advisor by email or phone

Mission and Objectives

MISSION:
To improve the lives of people in the communities we serve through volunteer activities and humanitarian projects.

GOALS:

To offer the youth (High school and college graduates) an opportunity to serve underprivileged children around the world.
To offer professionals an opportunity to work around the world and gain incomparable international experience.
To offer all volunteers the opportunity to acquire new skills or experiences to help enhance their educational and professional development.
To make positive contributions towards the development of individuals and communities.
To expand the voluntary services of Projects of Heart and reach out to more communities around the world.

OUR OBJECTIVES:

That our volunteers learn about the culture, food, lifestyle, hopes and dreams of the people of the country they served.
That our volunteers and the people of the communities served have a lasting memory of the experience.
That our volunteers are satisfied with our service and that they do volunteer again with us and also recommend Projects of Heart to other potential volunteers.

Our Volunteers

Our volunteers are hosted by selected local families who provide them with accommodation, food and other assistance. So as a volunteer with Projects of Heart, you will have the opportunity to:

1. Live and interact with a typical local family and learn about their culture, lifestyles and dreams
2. Gain overseas work experience in your respective project area.
3. Interact with co-workers and learn about their work environment.
4. Visit and enjoy exciting tourist attraction sites around the country.
5. Meet and make new and long lasting friendships.
6. Earn incomparable credentials

This is in great contrast with the typical tourist, who spends his or her vacation time in an all inclusive hotel without having the opportunity to live with and learn more about the people of the country.

The Projects We Offer

Our volunteers serve in project areas such as; Health care, Education, Care for Children, Care for Orphans, Care for seniors, Sports, Agriculture, Hospitality, Agriculture, Marine life, and more.

We Apprecite Your Service

All of our volunteers receive a token of appreciation for their service. These include a Certificate of Service, Projects of Heart T. Shirt and other souvenirs.

We also encourage all of our volunteers to become members and recruiters for the organization as it is our goal to expand our services to more needy communities around the world.

Our Staff

Many of our local staff members are professionals who have also served for many years as volunteers in different Non Governmental Organizations (NGOs). They are passionate about helping needy people in their communities, and they need you to reach out and touch the lives of these people.
